Gisteren: Elon koopt 9,2% van Twitter voor €2,62 miljard en is in een klap de grootste aandeelhouder. Vandaag, Elon neemt zitting in Twitters Raad van Bestuur (bezetting hier). En daar zegt Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal in een extreem steriel tweetje enorm blij mee te zijn. "He’s both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need on @Twitter, and in the boardroom, to make us stronger in the long-term. Welcome Elon!"
Nou, dat is dus geschreven door iemand die heel goed weet dat hij vanaf nu in de schietstoel zit. Want in 2018, toen nog als Twitters CTO, zei Parag Agrawal: “focus less on thinking about free speech, but thinking about how the times have changed”. Dat betekent natuurlijk exact waar het op lijkt en Twitter werd inderdaad een stuk restrictiever nadat hij in 2019 CEO werd. Wordt vervolgd.
